Mieke Baak

Born in The Hague in Holland. As a child I was immersed in the world of art and culture from an early age.This stimulated my interest and allowed my creative talent to develop from my childhood.This was very important for my later creative development and it led to an uninhibited and unlimited freedom in my artistic work, both in style and in technique.As a self taught artistI have been painting for 35 years as a professional from my own studio. To see, feel and listen to the colours, shapes, lines, and structures, that is how I work.Art and making it, is certainly not a trick but a dynamic proces, a search for the right colours, proportions and compositions.My work is often characterizedas versatile and multi-colored. For me, life in the broadest sense of the word, is my source of inspiration.Life is like flowing water, and it must keep flowing. Besides my work as an artist I really love studying, especially as i see studying as an enormous enrichment of my life.Currently I am studing the ‘Dead Languages ‘especailly because language and culture are inextricably linked.

My work has been and exhibited from several galeries, including a gallery in the Nieuwe Spiegelstraat in Amsterdam, and contacts are made more and more through internet and instagram.My work has found its way throughout Europe and the United States.
